CCE celebrated the beginning of our 30th Anniversary year with a celebration at the Supreme Court on Monday, January 23. This date was selected because it is also the birthday of former Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, after whom CCE's highest public award is named.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hosted a very special celebration, and friends from around the DC community gathered for birthday cake. Councilmember Phil Mendelson read the DC Council ceremonial resolution declaring January 23, 2012 to be "Council for Court Excellence Day" in the DIstrict of Columbia. And DC Attorney General Irvin Nathan read a proclamation from DC Mayor VIncent Gray honoring CCE's milestone year.
