On February 26, 2018, the Office of the District of Columbia Auditor released a report examining the intersections of the D.C. Department of Behavioral Health and the D.C. criminal justice system.
The Council for Court Excellence prepared the report entitled, Improving Mental Health Services and Outcomes for All: D.C.'s Department of Behavioral Health and the Justice System.

CCE Releases "Is D.C. More Secure? A Criminal Legal System Overview"
On September 23, 2024, CCE released "Is D.C. More Secure? A Criminal Legal System Overview", which provides up-to-date data on many key aspects of D.C.’s criminal legal system. The report gives particular focus to parts of the legal system that may be impacted in the months and years ahead by provisions of the SECURE D.C. legislation passed in early 2024.
