How the District Gets its Judges

CCE is proud to announce the release of a comprehensive report detailing the judicial appointment process in the District of Columbia. Beyond examining the appointment and reappointment processes, the report explores the pathways to the bench by profiling the professional backgrounds of the 150 persons who have been recommended by the District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission for nomination to the Superior Court between 1994 and August 2011.

CCE has released a full report as well as an executive summary that highlights critical steps in the appointment process and key research findings.

We hope that you take the time to review CCE's latest publication. As we continue to strive for excellence in our community education and outreach initiatives, we welcome and encourage feedback.
